A Renaissance, museum-worthy engraved bone object of great artistic quality. Dated 1549 and signed on the back. It depicts a portrait of a Bishop Saint protecting a city. Probably, considering the name engraved below, it is St. Maurelius, Bishop of Voghenza, known as patron saint of Ferrara since 1463 and depicted in numerous works of art, including a painting by Cosme' Tura. Dimensions: 7. 5 x 6 cm. In a good state of preservation, as pictured.
