A Voyage to Abyssinia, and travels into the interior of that country, executed under the orders of the British Government, in the years 1809 and 1810; in which are included, an account of the Portuguese Settlements on the East Coast of Africa, 1st edition, London: F. C. and J. Rivington, 1814, half-title, 28 engraved plates (of 29), 4 folding maps (of 5), bookplate of Conyngham to front pastedown, some leaves uncut, hinges neatly reinforced, faintly damp-stained to head throughout, mid-19th-century blindstamped purple cloth gilt, spine faded, a few light marks to boards, 4to (Quantity: 1) Blackmer 1479; Mendelssohn p.264. Salt 'returned to Africa in 1809 on a government mission to establish contact with the King of Abyssinia which occupied him for two years.
