Oil on canvas without stretcher, floating framing. The dimensions of the canvas (without the frame) are 39 x 94 Salvador Collell, Catalan painter, born in Les Planes d ́Hostoles (Girona) in 1949. In his compositions, the figures are voluminous, round, they convey feelings such as tenderness, innocence, joy, tranquility, dispensing with minute details. His works are made with large brushstrokes, very schematic and with an austere range of colours to make "monumental" figures, almost sculptural. We can find him in Barcelona, there where every Sunday the Plaza del Pí painters exhibit their works to the public, next to the imposing and centenary pine tree that gives its name to this square, beside the imposing Gothic church built in the fifteenth century.
