Artist book comprising 14 engravings, color lithograph and 7 engraved vignettes on Rives paper, with text by Jacques Casanova, loose as issued, numbered 80 of 390, tirage page, with etchings signed with the artist's embossed signature, published by Cercle du Livre Precieux/printed by Haasen, Boileau and Cappelle, Paris, contained in a printed paper folder; enclosed in a cloth chemise with the title and artist on the spine, sliding into a cloth slipcase decorated with manufactured floral tapestry.

Dali interprets Jacques Casanova's seven stories in fourteen full-page color engravings after original watercolors; the beginning of each tale is illustrated by an engraved vignette. The lurid sexuality of the stories is punctuated by Dali's surrealist interpretations.
