Nicolas, Olivier and the late Robert Descharnes have kindly confirmed the authenticity of this work.

Condition Report:
Executed on cream wove paper mounted on board which is hinged to the support in two places along the upper edge of its verso. The sheet is lightly toned. Faint mat burn to the extreme perimeter. A couple pindots of foxing scattered throughout the composition. One nailhead-sized area of loss and correponding restoration at the center of the upper edge. One pinhole along the left center edge. One 1-inch possible flattened crease in the upper center register in the figure's proper left hand. Light handling marks in the margins. This work is in overall very good condition.
