Biography: Salvatore Postiglione (1861 - 1906) The Italian artist Salvatore Postiglione was the son of Luigi Postiglione and brother of the artist Luca Postiglione. His first artistic education was effected by his father and later he studied at the Art Academy of Modena under Morelli. In 1902 be became a professor of the Academy of Modena. His paintings can be found nowadays in museums in Rome, Naples and Triest. Postiglione came from a family of artists and studied with his uncle Eafaele postiglione (1818-1897) and at Domenico Morelli (1823-1901). In 1883 he presented in Rome a painting religious theme from 1881 in Turin he was present with a history painting and in 1887 in Venice with a holy picture and with a portrait of his master. In public spaces he created the fresco in the hall of the Palazzo della Borsa in Naples and at the Castello Miramare in Trieste.
