Sandra Chevrier (b. 1983) La Cage et la vie des étoiles, 2022 Acrylic on canvas 17-1/2 x 59 inches (44.5 x 149.9 cm) PROVENANCE: Acquired from Thinkspace Projects by the current owner This lot is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity from Thinkspace Projects. Sandra Chevrier works from her Montreal based studio, creating hyper-realistic watercolor comic book collages. The quality of her painting skills lures in the viewer to the detail of the women's faces. The series, „cage", represents her views on women trying to find freedom from society's forced narratives of women and the burden of preconceptions of what they should or shouldn't be and do. Chevrier depicts her female figures imprisoned by society's suffocating "Cages" of expectation. She represents women being restrained by the limitations forced upon them. This series launched her career and galleries have continuously proposed to her solo exhibitions as well as print releases. HID09710052018 © 2022 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
