First edition of Sanson's quarto atlas of Asia. With 17 engraved maps coloured in outline. - Light browning and spotting, some marginal dampstaining at beginning and end (at end also affecting text). A few minor marginal tears, stronger browning resp. spotting and longer rep. marginal tear to 1 map. Bound in contemp. limp vellum; some creases, staining and scribbling to covers, small marginal tear-out to lower cover.

Karte von Japan wie bei P. mit Datierung 1653. Enthält Drucktitel, 50 nn. Bll. Begleittext sowie am Schluss je 1 Bl. Anzeigen und Privileg. - Leicht gebräunt bzw. fleckig, zu Beginn u. am Schluss Ränder etwas wasserfleckig (gegen Ende stärker u. bis in den Text). Vereinzelt minimale Randläsuren, Kte. der Großen Tartarei etwas stärker gebräunt u. fleckig sowie mit längerem rep. Randeinriss bis in das Bild.
