II state of II, after the addition of the monogram at the bottom center. From the missal published in November 1583 in Mantua for the basilica of Santa Barbara. The missal was dedicated to Pope Gregory XIII and contained 4 plates engraved by Ghisi, likely after paintings by Domenico Brusasorci. The plates had been commissioned from Ghisi a few years earlier, around 1578/9.
Impression printed on light laid paper. Trimmed but with thin well-preserved margins. An old restoration in the part of Dionysus' face. Otherwise in very good condition. Rare.
