Sargent-Welch Van de Graaff Generator

A Sargent-Welch electrostatic generator of the Van de Graaff type, designed for scientific laboratory and educational demonstrations. The instrument features a rectangular metal base finished in blue paint. A clear acrylic insulating column is mounted to the center of the base, housing an internal rubber transport belt. The top of the column supports a large, polished metal collection sphere with a circular aperture for the belt assembly. A secondary discharge electrode, consisting of a smaller metal sphere atop a clear acrylic post, is attached to the upper surface of the base. A black electrical power cord is connected to the side of the metal housing. The front of the base bears a rectangular white adhesive label with a black logo comprising two stacked horizontal bars. The label is printed with black text reading SARGENT-WELCH, ELECTROSTATIC GENERATOR, Van de Graaff-Type, and DESIGNED AND MANUFACTURED BY SARGENT-WELCH SCIENTIFIC COMPANY.
