Sassanian Stone Stamp Seal Bead w/ Soldier

Ancient Near East/Central Asia, Sassanian (Sasanian, Sassanid) Empire, ca. 2nd to 7th century CE. A petite stamp seal of an ovoid form, hand-carved from nearly opaque white-hued stone with faint honey yellow inclusions. A suspension hole is biconically drilled laterally through the body for suspension. Incised on the stamp face is a standing warrior wearing a skirted armor set and a chin-strapped helmet while holding a spear in one hand. Custom putty impression included. Size: 0.7" L x 0.375" W (1.8 cm x 1 cm); 1.9" H (4.8 cm) on included custom stand.

Condition Report: Minor nicks and abrasions to body and stamp face, with light softening to some incised figural details on stamp face, otherwise intact and very good. Nice preservation to incised details on stamp face.
