Sauropod Dinosaur Vertebra Camarasaurus Jurassic Morrison Formation Utah, USA This incredible Dinosaur vertebra is very complete, highly mineralized, quite heavy, and really big, which makes it all the more surreal when considering it is a caudal bone from the tail of the gigantic Sauropod Camarasaurus. With unmistakable morphological form, great shape, and pleasing reddish-brown color, this fossil offering is a standout. Measuring some 8 inches (20 cm) just across the "top" surface, this is a massive specimen weighing over 22 pounds (10 kilograms). Remnants of all the major processes are still intact, giving this superb bone real context. The underside of the "vert" has some uneven mineralization, but the overall shape and form are outstanding, with only a minor section of the top lip missing to reveal a look into a porous and bony interior.
