Delineated & Engraved for Morse's Geography by Amos Doolittle New Haven" Artistically engraved. Title in ornamental cartouche and 'Explanation' table portrayed as an open book. Shows Fort Pitt (Pittsburgh), numerous large 'grants' in future Ohio: "Genl Clarks Grant 150,00 acres"; Indiana: "Wabash Company" & "Army Lands"; "Illinois Company" with "New Jersey Company which includes Ft. Chartres & Kaskaskias; enormous Western Territory from Ohio to Waukonteebe (sp?) Cave where R. St. Croix meets the Mississippi and on to the fictional "Lake of the Woods." Scarce and informative view of the United States 10 years after independence. Extensive marginal reinforcing. Professionally cleaned and deacidified. No map with this exact title has appeared in 26 years of AMPR.
