Scarce Heddon Model No. 40 Casting Reel

Stamped "Made by James Heddon's Sons - Dowagiac Mich.- No. 40" on the head plate, and "Carter's Pat. Jul 5, 04 Nov 28, 05" on the screw-off tail plate, this non-level winding German silver bait casting reel was introduced in 1917 and made for a only few short years. The model #40 features a screw off rear plate, dual grasp "S" shaped handle and rear click switch. An Ex condition reel throughout that would be difficult at best to upgrade. A seldomly offered Heddon casting reel for collectors to find.
