Ceremonial Sceptre, Yoruba culture, Nigeria Height: 54 cm. Beautiful ceremonial sceptre representing Shango, the god of war and thunder. The sculpture is well composed, the object seems to be ready to move. Beautiful red colouring, the patina is matt and dry on the widest part of the object. Only the top of the figure’s body and the handle present traces of wear, due to the many manipulations. The face is partly erased. A beautiful ancient and authentic piece of collection. Around 1930.
