Schatz - Ship's barometer - vintage, near mint - brass & glass

Founded in the 1850s, Schatz was for years the leading manufacturer of classic ship’s instruments.
For sale, a fine example of their top-of-the-range barometer, made in West Germany pre-1992. It shows superb workmanship and is fully functional. The barometer is in near-mint vintage condition with only minimal patina (photos) . The lacquered brass housing is fine, without cracks, dents or major blemishes. The dial is in excellent condition. The door is secured by a brass closure. The facet-cut glass port is clean and intact.
The barometer is calibrated in both millibars and inches (mercury units) . There is a fine capillary thermometer (Celsius/Fahrenheit) . The barometer may need adjusting after transport, easily done with a screwdriver via front access (photo #18) .
