Scheelite & Aquamarine Pingwu beryl mine (Huya W-Sn-Be deposit; Xuebaoding W-Sn-Be deposit) Huya township, Mt Xuebaoding, Pingwu Co. Mianyang, Sichuan China This large cabinet-specimen displays as a big plate with some massive crystals as the stars. The main focus is the huge Scheelite crystal surrounded by three Aquamarine crystals all nested in a bed of bladed gray Muscovite. The Aquamarine crystals display a haunting light bluish-gray color. The Scheelite crystal is quite sizable and displays an intense honey-brown hue and a pseudo-octahedral layered form. The largest Aquamarine crystal measures 3.95 x 0.96 inches (10.05 x 2.44 cm), while the Scheelite crystal measures 2.98 x 2.30 inches (7.57 x 5.86 cm). This combination is a classic for this locality and not to be missed. This colossal example is in good condition. The largest Aquamarine crystal does have a crack, but it has been stabilized.
