Beautiful album comprising the 2 large panoramas and the complete set of the 14 plates all in tinted (8 in colour) lithography. All plates in the versions printed by Frick, Paris, which Blackmer and Atabey presume to be the first edition. "Both editions are based on the same prototype drawings... The basic view is the same, but many details differ - buildings, figures foliage, etc. The same holds true for Schranz's lithographed plates described below" (Blackmer). - A beautiful and well-preserved album; the plates show only slight foxing in places, mainly at the margins, and the panoramas bear a dry-stamp of Schranz & Percheron on the white margin. Bound in contemp. blind-tooled cloth with gilt title 'Le Bosphore" to front cover; slight rubbing and decolouring, some scraching and few tiny imperfections to back cover.
Blackmer 1505 u. 1507; Atabey 1106 u. 1107. Rand.
