Joshin Takagawa was born to a family of metallurgists and became famous for his skills in bronze casting. He was the son of Ōshima Takajiro, whose own father Ōshima Yasubei was the first metal craftsman in the family. [2] He was a professor at the Tokyo School of Fine Arts (東京美術学校 Tōkyō Bijutsu Gakkō from 1887 until 1932. It is currently difficult to find works by this artist. The colours are very close to reality in rare finesse, a mixture of bronze/pink/ gold Male carp size: see above Female carp dimensions: length 26 cm, height 10 cm, width 7 cm Both carps weigh 1. 8 kg Sold without the shelf.
