With a beautiful serene face, this Buddha in paper mache, lacquered in red/black, is decorated with glass jewels and finished off with gold foil. Represented sitting on his throne, decorated with foliated scrolls, as well as the tree of the Bodhi (an important tree in Buddhism, since it is under this tree, located in Bodhgaya, that Buddha had reached awakening) , the right hand is taking the Earth as witness, dressed in a monastic dress braided with decorative friezes and shoulder pads, the earlobes are elongated, and the beautiful crown is ornamented with glass jewels, topped by an ushnisha.
