Large 42 cm tall Buddha from the early Ava period, 16th century. Burma. Metal part as support. Buddha size 42cm. The support does not alter the size of it. Superb Buddha sculpture with a "baby face" in teak and lacquered with a red plate. This Buddha was most likely gilded in the past. Sitting in position of taking the earth to witness on his throne (fragment) in the shape of a lotus. A magnificent piece, we can clearly see the erosion of the wood which is most likely 500 years old.
