AL214 ALOALO bus with coffin on the roof, 155 x 18 x 15 cm, locality region Tulear, 1970, complete with foot and headboard, astrological ornaments on both sides, solidly made from a wooden plank The Skulpur has 4 ornamental pattern fragments with the typical astrological signs such as crescent moon above the usual plug-in foot Stars, and earth. In the important head part, which often tells a little story, here is a fairly modern everyday scene. A bush taxi transports a deceased's coffin. The totem stelae are always made to order by certain carvers and choreographed during their lifetime. This scene may be requested by the client himself and represents the transfer of the sacred bones or symbolizes the journey to the realm of the dead. The hardwood is lightly oxidized from outdoor use but not weathered brittle. There are remains of original painting and drying cracks in the sculpture. Shipping as bulky goods possible, please inquire about costs. For free-space installation, a stand can be purchased for € 90, on the arm of which the sculpture is hung and then secured against tipping. The real Alo. Alo are an artistic rarity because the ancestor cult, which comes from Papa Neuginea, found physical expression in these stelae only in Madagascar worldwide.
