Sculpture, Angeli - 46 cm - Wood

Pair of cherubs (angels) in polychrome wood from the 1600s.
Each 46cm high, 37cm wide, 29cm deep
Both putti have traces of original lacquering, the band that surrounds the waist of the putto (intact) was made by attaching canvas, probably linen, with small nails still present.
The fabric was then covered with an teal colored lacquer.
Both putti have some shortcomings which however do not detract from the charm of this ancient carving masterpiece
I would like to point out old restoration attempts and small wooden breakages.
The putti both come from an ancient Roman church.
