Sculpture, God Pan (1) - Bronze - Late 20th century
Bronze sculpture depicting Pan the faun with fifes. He represented nature as a whole for better or for worse. Pan was the god of fertility and unbridled freedom. The birth of the flute was attributed to him. It is said, in fact, that the nymph Syringe, to escape from him, invoked the help of the Naiads and was therefore transformed by them into a marsh reed. The faun, listening to that sound given by the wind, decided to build the musical instrument. Height 42 cm. The item is in a very good state of preservation except for small signs of ageing.
