Imposing and ancient sculpture made of solid bronze depicting the head of the great Roman emperor Julius Caesar, resting on a massive white marble base. Gaius Julius Caesar was a Roman military, politician, consul, dictator, pontiff, orator and writer, considered one of the most important and influential characters in history. It played a fundamental role in the transition of the system of government from the republican to the imperial form. He conquered Gaul and extended the dominion of the Roman res publica up to the Atlantic Ocean and the Rhine; led the Roman armies to invade Britain and Germany for the first time and to fight in Spain, Greece, Egypt, Pontus and Africa. The work datable to the mid-twentieth century. It presents itself in all its artistic grandeur, with a detailed and meticulous chiselling. Of extraordinary manufacture.
