SCULPTURE OF CHRIST IN ALABASTER STONE OR MARBLE FROM THE EARLY 19TH CENTURY. ANONYMOUS AUTHOR. FILIPINO SCHOOL. Profusely decorated.
It presents four pieces joined together by pieces of wood (old pieces of wood replaced by modern ones) . Crown, sculpture of Christ, foot with angels and inscription and base with rich ornamentation.
It presents the inscription “The Ascension of the Lord”.
The sculpture has the five wounds of Jesus Christ represented (The five wounds he received at his crucifixion:
Piercings of both hands and feet made by the nails that held him to the cross.
A wound on the right side caused by a spear that pierced his chest.
Measures
43. 5 centimeters high, 16. 5 centimeters approximate width and depth.

Purchased in 1955 by the Marquises of Sánchez Dalf of Seville with previous provenance from the Convent of Regina Angelorún in Seville.
The shipment will be perfectly packaged through the UPS company and insured.
