Magnificent Memento Mori of Skeleton with scythe, baroque representation of Death in the style of Renaissance cabinet of curiosities collections.
Beautiful skeleton in excellent condition, carved from horn/bone and fixed on a tiered wooden base. Beautiful classic work featuring a skeleton holding a long scythe in his right hand and a walking stick in the left, many very fine sculpting details. The scythe is made of horn/bone and steel. In perfect state of conservation.
Height with base 14cm, weight 47grams. The skeleton alone is 12cm high by 5. 5cm wide and 6cm deep (these last two measurements with the scythe) . The wooden base is approximately 2cm high. Very beautiful, elegant collector's item or display item. Please see all the images to form a fair opinion as they are part of the description. Period 1900-2000.
