Sculpture, Ostrich built around coconut, with secret space - 44.5 cm (1) - Metal with remains of silvering, coconut - First half 20th century

Rare white metal sculpture of an ostrich built around a coconut, manufactured in the 1st half of the 20th century. The sculpture was silver-plated of which the remains are still clearly visible. The plumes, tail, legs, neck and head are very nicely executed and the sculpture has a very nice patina. The ostrich's body can be disassembled in an easy way. The legs are fixed to on the coconut. See the photos. The coconut was used as a secret space, there were some old pictures in the coconut when purchased. These pictures belong with the sculpture and will be sent as well.
