Sculpture, Praying Angel - 73 cm - Wood, polychrome - Mid 19th century

Beautiful praying angel, large size, made of wood, 19th century. The wings are fixed to the sculpture with wooden wedges, as was customary in 18th century. Nice and sweet facial features, with his hands joined. It's probably the representation of the Guardian Angel. The polychrome paint layer is partially worn out but the statue is in excellent condition and the small colour fall offs increase the charm of the sculpture.
