A rare sculpture of a bearded soldier, standing in full armor, wearing a "morion"-type helmet with a large plume. His mantle is draped over his right shoulder and in his right hand he is holding a long spear or lance. The shoulder-plate on his left shoulder is left uncovered, revealing a grotesque mask. Walnut with remains of the original polychrome paint and gilding. Southern Netherlands, typical for the city of Antwerp. Renaissance. Circa 1580-1600.
