Italian origin in the Veneto area.
Head almost certainly created for an ecclesiastical environment, forming the wall of a larger sculpture perhaps of a saint or a prophet, work executed with mastery, well finished in detail, still shows signs of colouration, perhaps still original. In fair condition (there are no woodworms or parasites)
