Yakushi Nyorai Buddha (薬師如来) . Buddha of Medicine and Healing with right hand forming the fear not mudra and the left hand holding a small jar of medicine. Edo Period. Lacquered giltwood. Glass eyes. Constructed using the joined block technique. Beautiful time honed patina. Loss and wear commensurate with great age. Wear, cracking, and peeling to lacquer as seen in photos. Age crack on the back and left leg/lap area as seen in photos. Remarkably fingers on both hand intact. Buyer responsible for all import fees and duties.
