Our female " Iagalagana " figurine has open worked ears and the typical zigzag legs. Sometimes It stood with other figures in a separate hut entrusted to a member of the community who had the necessary magical powers. These prestige objects were used to evoke rain, among other things, unpredictable other divinatory customs. Ex. Coll. Jos Humblet , Brussels ( Inv. nr. 007015 (see attached photo : name and signature) . Hard wood type Shiny, black brown oily patina. Traces of white pigment powder in scarifications and eyes. Dust deposits on the whole. Traces of wear and tear. Hole at the top of the crest (! ?) . Traces of wear and tear on corners and edges. Dry bottom. Left foot with drilled hole for the previous stand. Will be sent with track & trace.
