Scuola Fiamminga del XVIII secolo - Pietà
Pietá, 18th Century Flemish School, Oil on Copper.
Important 18th century oil on copper from the Flemish school depicting a Pietà with the Madonna and Jesus on Mount Calvary.
It has a clear influence of Michelangelo's art, but introduces a triangular scheme concentrated on the arms of Christ and the face of the grieving Virgin. The figures of the composition are in the middle of a hilly landscape where there are the three crosses of Mount Calvary. The painter used tones similar to the Venetian painters of the Renaissance even if the design is typically Flemish.
Excellent pictorial quality used.
Frame not contemporary but ancient from the 19th century.
23x18 cm (copper only)
32x25 cm (with frame)
Adequate packaging is guaranteed, shipping will be express and insured.
