[ translate ]

\Artist: Scuola Inglese del XVIII Secolo
Technique: Oil on canvas\Signature: Not signed\Dimensions: 80. 5_3_64. 5_cm
Beautiful portrait, oil on canvas, of excellent artistic quality. Size: 80. 5 x 64. 5 cm. English School, first half of the eighteenth century. The nobleman’s body is facing right and the face is slightly frontal, with the gaze directed towards the observer. The protagonist has a confident expression, very determined and proud despite his young age. His right hand is tucked inside the buttoning of the waistcoat. In his left hand he holds a tricorn, a typical hat, very fashionable at the beginning of the eighteenth century. The hair is typical of eighteenth-century gentlemen; silver wig with hair probably gathered in a tail, as was the taste in the eighteenth century, tied at the front by a black silk ribbon that also serves as a tie. This type of hairstyle was typical of the military world, attested from 1713 and was especially known in the British environment, where it was referred to as tye-wig. In excellent condition, only slight signs of restoration. Old re-stretching. The canvas is tight on its original stretcher and the pictorial surface is perfectly fitting. Very accurate packaging, tracked and insured shipping, given the value of the work. For the export of this work beyond the Italian borders it is necessary to obtain the Certificate of Free Circulation from the Ministry of Cultural Heritage. Its costs are already included in the shipping costs.
