Scuola Ispano-Fiamminga, XVI secolo - Madonna con bambino

[ translate ]

\Artist: Scuola Ispano-Fiamminga, XVI secolo
Technique: Olio su rame\Signature: Not signed\Dimensions: 46. 5_4. 5_47_cm
Towards the middle of the 15th-16th century we witness a profound renewal of painting in the Iberian peninsula, which is now experiencing one of the periods of greatest creativity and technical quality thanks to the trade with Flanders and the massive arrival of works of art. Spanish painters can thus directly confront a new language based on the experience of reality, in which they find an effective model for overcoming the artificial forms of international Gothic. The chromatic possibilities offered by the oil technique that spread both in Spain and Portugal are captured from Flemish painting. Our painting, of exquisite workmanship (an attribution study would be interesting) , can be attributed to this pictorial area, with the additional advantage of being an oil on copper, a technique considered with great interest by the international antiques market. Measure cm. 46x47 with the beautiful half-barrel frame in gold leaf, handcrafted and cm. 36x36 only work, which can also be exhibited without frame, as shown in the photo. The painting is supplied with a government document, for the lawful circulation outside the Spanish territory, necessary for the high epoch (prudently indicates the date of 1601, but the painting can be dated towards the end of 1500) , and a certificate of lawful origin from my collection. ATTENTION: only shipped to the E. U. (does not ship to the U. K. and the rest of the world) cm. 36x36
