[ translate ]

\Artist: Scuola Italiana del XVII secolo
Technique: Oil on canvas\Signature: Not signed\Dimensions: 52_74_5_cm
Antique painting, from the 17th century, oil on canvas, depicting Still Life on an outdoor table with woman, dogs and parrot. Refined canvas, whose stylistic and writing characteristics, as well as the type of subject, quite typical of its production, immediately evoke comparisons with the works of Pier Francesco Cittadini (1616-1681) , suggesting a plausible attribution to the same Cittadini or some author close to him. In fact, not only the peculiar iconography belongs to the style of the master, but also the pictorial management, in which we perceive the typical taste of the artist, as well as the analysis of the cretto would indicate a coeval dating. This thesis is also supported by comparisons with his other works of a similar subject, such as: - Outdoor table with fish and figures in a courtyard, Private collection (End of a misunderstanding: Pier Francesco Cittadini was not a portraitist, but a great painter of still life, and news on his brother Carlo di di Massimo Pulini - fig. 13) - Still life with fruit, vegetables, flowers and parrot - Yamoussoukro (Ivory Coast) , private collection (Zeri Foundation - artwork 87486) - Table of vegetables and fish with figures in the farmyard, Modena, Galleria Estense (End of a misunderstanding: Pier Francesco Cittadini was not a portraitist, but a great painter of still life, and news on his brother Carlo di di Massimo Pulini - fig. 15) - Still life with tray of apples and pears, fruit basket, melons, grapes, pomegranate and cat playing with a bird cage, Modena, Galleria Estense. (Zeri Foundation - work card 85393) - Plate of candied fruit on carpet, basket with seasonal fruit and figures in the background, Trieste, Galleria Nazionale (Zeri Foundation - work card 85391) Framed in a beautiful frame of recent times, gilded and decorated with leaf motifs. In fairly good general condition considering the time of the painting, there are some small scattered restorations and some slight unveiling of the pictorial surface, however nothing particularly relevant. There are no conservation problems and the original canvas does not appear relined, only reinforcement bands are applied along the four sides. A fine crackle is visible compared to the time. The chassis appears to have been replaced recently. Measurements of the painting: 35 x 57 cm. Frame size: 52 x 74 cm. Work accompanied by a certificate of photographic authenticity, as per current legislation. Shipping via insured express courier and packaging performed with the utmost care.
