The pleasant rural scene describes a lively moment of the harvest in which different activities of the cherubs alternate, almost as if to describe different moments of the day. In the foreground, on the right, three vigorous children carry bundles of wheat. The lively facial expressions and balanced bodily poses of the naked youths appear well characterized.
On the left a figure refreshes himself, surrounded by amphorae and pleasant drapery. In the background, isolated cherubs work in the summer harvest. Elegant floral hints appear among the ears of wheat, with evident naturalistic intentions.
The composition describes a harmonious sequence of vitality and rest, among the lush foliage of wheat. In the agricultural idealization, the delicate atmospheric colors restore a thermal sense of summer warmth.

The painting comes from a private Florentine collection and has recently been cleaned and relined.

Accompanying the work is a beautiful, patinated frame from a later period.
