Scuola Veneta del XVIII Secolo - Paesaggio con assalto di briganti

[ translate ]

\Artist: Scuola Veneta del XVIII Secolo
Technique: Oil on canvas\Signature: Not signed\Dimensions: 68_84. 5_5_cm
Antique painting, oil on canvas, dateable in the early XVIII century, depicting a landscape with assault of brigands. The painting is attributed to an artist of the Venetian school, particularly influenced by the works of Marco Ricci and with evocations taken from Salvator Rosa. An auction label is visible on the back of the stretcher, bearing an attribution to Antonio Maria Marini (Venice, 1668 - Venice, 1725) . The stylistic references of this work go well with Marini's biography and artistic personality, as well as the analysis of the cracking, which would indicate a coeval dating and therefore a likely authorship of the work. With a beautiful and recent frame, golden and decorated with leaves pattern. In overall good condition, considering its age. There are some scattered restorations and some peeling of the surface, but nothing truly relevant. There are no conservation issues and the original canvas is supported by an old re-lining. Fine craquelure compatible with age. It looks like the stretcher was replaced when the painting was relined. Painting size: 52. 5 x 69 cm. Frame size: 68 x 84. 5 cm. With photographic certificate of authenticity, in accordance with the current law. Shipping via insured express courier, packaged with the utmost care.
