Antique painting, oil on canvas, dateable in the early XVIII century, depicting a landscape with assault of brigands. The painting is attributed to an artist of the Venetian school, particularly influenced by the works of Marco Ricci and with evocations taken from Salvator Rosa. An auction label is visible on the back of the stretcher, bearing an attribution to Antonio Maria Marini (Venice, 1668 - Venice, 1725) . The stylistic references of this work go well with Marini's biography and artistic personality, as well as the analysis of the cracking, which would indicate a coeval dating and therefore a likely authorship of the work.
