"Santa Veronica", of the seventeenth century, with the "veil of Veronica" Oil on canvas, 49 x 44 cm; total size: 67. 5 x 63. 5 cm. According to Prof. Sandro Bellesi, this is Santa Veronica who was born blind and regained her sight thanks to the cloth on which the face of Christ remained imprinted, during his ascent to the Calvary. The canvas, also according to the art historian dr. Bellesi, is a post-Reni Emilian work of the second half of the 1600s; also confirmed by the Vimarte gallery (BS) , as per the technical sheet attached to the painting, which adds: ". . The dominant stylistic elements go in the direction of Reni, as regards the compositional system, and in that of Cantarini for the chiaroscuro of naturalistic accentuation”. With a beautiful antique frame, in excellent condition. Ready to hang! From a private collection in Florence, purchased at an auction by Farsetti arte (FI) in 2011, and the purchased by me in 2020. No shipping outside the European Community. For EU the shipment will take place after the visa for the issuance of the "Self-certification". With time and costs (100 euros) to be paid for by the buyer!
