Scuola italiana (XVIII) - Vergine Maria
Religious work, oil on copper, depicting the Virgin Mary, dating back to around the 18th century. The Virgin Mary is depicted with extreme delicacy, note the refined execution of the features of the young face. She is dressed in the typical colors of the iconography of the time, red is a symbol of her divine nature, even Jesus and the holy martyrs dressed in red. The cloak is blue, symbolizing the vault of heaven.
Technique: oil on copper, unsigned, complete with 19th century gilded wooden frame. Italian school of painting. Provenance from private collection, Milan, Italy.
