Sea Snail Sea shell - M-367 TURBO IMPERIALIS (No Reserve Price)
A beautiful, polished shell of Turbo Imperialis - a species of sea snail, a sea snail mollusk from the Turbinidae family, turban snails. The large, solid shell has a spherical-conical shape. It is ventral and imperforate. The 6-7 convex spirals show well-marked seams and numerous more or less visible rotary grooves. The large whorl of the body is slightly flattened above. The opening is sub-circular and pearly white inside. The outer lip is rather thin. The arcuate column has a pearly callus that reappears at the posterior angle. The parietal wall is almost devoid of callus. The base of the shell is slightly widened and poorly made. Dimensions - 55/70/95 mm. I highly recommend it to collectors and interior decorators.
