The edges of the sheet are slightly unevenly cut. There is a small nick at the centre of the upper edge. The sheet is loose in the frame. The sheet undulated slightly throughout, in keeping with the artist's working methods and materials. There are two small losses to the thicker pigment in the central passage of the archway. There are some spots of foxing. There are some larger spots of staining to the right third of the work. There are a couple of faint creases to the sheet. There is some slight timestaining to the sheet. The work is in overall very good condition. The work is held behind glass in a simple wooden frame.
