(Folio) 38.2x20.5 cm (15x8¼"), bound by Shoshannah Wineburg in double-fold cloth-covered boards with title label printed in red; inner board with rectangular cut-out of burgundy-colored glass revealing a second mounted label beneath illustrated with an image of a skull with spider legs; cloth covered slipcase with printed spine labels. Letterpress by Arthur Larson. The sixteen point Spectrum type was hand set by Karen Randall. The paper was hand made by Velke Losiny. No. 50 of an edition limited to 70 copies.

"Issued by the Double Elephant Press in the tragic Fall of two thousand one" the year after artist Leonard Baskin, the son and brother of rabbis, died at age 77 in Northampton, where he resided. Séance for a Minyan is comprised of poems based on New Testament quotes and characters, a fitting tribute to the life of a man whose main themes were embodiment, mortality and death. Beautifully designed so that each spread opens out with etchings on each side of the text (or vice versa).
