This 1578 edition is a reprint of Farri's 1569 edition which was a reprint of the 1555 edition from Gabriel Giolito de Ferrari, et Fratelli. It offers commentary as well as a life of the poet, both by the important Italian scholar Lodovico Dolce.

Condition Report: Parchment darkened, wear at tail with fraying/wear/losses at tail and headbands, faint manuscript and stain on upper board; cracking and small separation at front hinge with first gathering loose, yet overall still sturdy; wear at paste-downs, several leaves with fraying including title page, a4 with significant loss and partially adhered to a3v; B6r with manuscript, occasional additional manuscript or ink mark; pages with light to moderate toning, with occasional small stain, corner wormhole, foxing, or small loss or tear not impacting text; frequent grime and damp staining at corners and margins; a fair to good copy.
