Dutch Louis XVI clapper secretaire, late 18th century.
Angled styles with beautifully detailed inlaid piping and oval inlay with floral motifs on the flap, shells on the doors below. (See pictures)
Frontally beautiful continuous and straight grained mahogany veneer (on oak)
Round gilded brass fittings on the top drawer, flap and doors.
Writing surface inlaid with light blue fabric, slightly stained. No cracks in flap, doors or sides.
Old restorations of a later date.
Locks and keys working. Entirely on tapered legs with cannelures.
Holland ca. 1775 - 1795

Dimensions:
H= 147 cm.
W= 88 - 92 cm. (narrowest- widest)
D= 40 - 42 cm. (shallowest-deepest)

Recently thoroughly checked for loose parts of construction and veneer. No living woodworm found on 4/25/2024
