Seiko - GRAND SEIKO SPECIAL HI-BEAT - 6156-8010 - Men - 1970-1979
I am selling a men's wristwatch GRAND SEIKO 6156-8010 SPECIAL HI-BEAT. from my private collection.
One of Grand Seiko's best vintage references, the 6156-8010 is made of specially hardened stainless steel (HSS) with a faceted sapphire crystal, making it considerably more expensive than its sister, the 6156-8000.
GS Special was at the top of the '61 series and just below the VFA. However, most VFA models did not feature the faceted glass and HSS housing, so the 6156-8010 was unique in its own way. Like the VFA, the special HSS model 6156-8010 is set to much higher specifications than the regular 6155/6156-8000 series.
Description
Watchcase:
Stainless steel case (HSS) 36 mm diameter without crown with screwed back and original crown.
Height 12. 7 mm; Lug Width 18mm. Lug to lug: 41mm,
Glass:
Faceted sapphire glass.
Dial:
Original silver dial with raised GS markers and day and date window at 3 o'clock.
Original hands
. Watch:
Automatic Seiko 6156A with quick adjustment of day and date, optionally with English or Japanese
Kanj days; BPH: 36,000,
Band:
Leather bracelet with crocodile pattern, with Grand Seiko clasp.
Condition:
The watch is in very neat condition with only minimal signs of use and keeps time well.
The dial has minimal age-related patina on the outer edge between 3 and 6 o'clock, almost invisible to the naked eye. You can see it in the last highly enlarged photo.
Watch will be well packaged and shipped insured.
