Seldom Found Mascotte Bebe.
This 18" (46cm) socket head doll, French, circa 1890, has a head fully incised "Mascotte 11", with amber paperweight eyes, a closed mouth with shaded lips, pierced earlobes, well-painted brows and lashes, and smooth even coloring. She is on the original fully articulated French wood and composition body with original patina and "Bebe Mascotte Paris" stamped on the back torso. She is dressed in all old fabric, consisting of a pale lemon cotton gauze and lace dress, antique undergarments, blue canvas shoes that are old but slightly newer than the doll, and an antique honey colored human hair wig over cork pate. She has a slight pinprick-sized eye flake on lower left eye socket. Condition: (Very Good). Dimensions: 21" x 7" x 4".
