Senneh Silk
Northwest Persia (Iran), c. 88 x 54 cm, about 1930, silk carpet with medallion design, unusual small format with visible traces of usage, both long sides are secured with a linen band on the back. The asymmetrical, or Persian, knot is also known as “Senneh knot”, although most Senneh carpets, like the present piece, are manufactured with symmetrical knots.
