Sensation Comics #1 (DC, 1942) CGC NM+ 9.6 Off-white pages. With its bright colors and near-crisp white background, this astounding NM+ copy of the character's second appearance may well be the most desirable copy of any Wonder Woman comic that exists. No copy of her first appearance in All Star Comics #8 has been certified above 9.4, and some would prefer this book over the All Star issue anyway given its better and more memorable cover. And of course Wonder Woman #1 did not see the light of day until half a year after this issue. The glorious Sensation #1 kicked off a 100-issue run of Wonder Woman in this anthology title. In January, we sold a VG/FN copy of the issue for over $45,000, considerably higher than the Overstreet Price Guide value, and we expect this copy will soar higher than an invisible jet and set a new record for the issue when it hits the auction block! As if the second appearance of Wonder Woman wasn't enough excitement, Wildcat and the original Mister Terrific (Terry Sloan) made their first appearances in the issue that ranks #20 on Overstreet's Top 100 Golden Age Comics list. H. G. Peter provided the cover art, with Peter, Sheldon Moldoff, and Irwin Hasen supplying the interior art. Overstreet 2023 NM- 9.2 value = $240,000. CGC census 3/24: 1 in 9.6, none higher.
